Course Summary: The Aerial Lift Operator Training course provides training for qualification of personnel to operate manually-propelled, self-propelled, and boom-supported aerial lifts. The retrain frequency for this course is 36 months.
The training includes the following topics:

Three types of aerial lifts and their major components

Safety standards for aerial lift operation, rated work load requirements and stability/safety design requirements for operation of each aerial lift within its configuration capacity

Control system and platform requirements and control panel functions

Safety/capacity placards, specification displays

Pre-start and workplace inspections

Shutdown, storage and transport procedures

Fall protection systems

Handling and operating procedures for batteries and liquid propane gas bottles
Target Audience: This course is intended for employees with responsibilities for general safety, operations, engineering, or maintenance.
Course Prerequisites: There are no course prerequisites.
Course Evaluation: A written examination and hands-on evaluation will be used to measure student mastery of the training objectives. The student must attain a score of 80 percent or higher on the written examination for successful course completion.
Course Length: 8 hours
Course Frequency: 8 times each quarter and upon request
