Course Summary:
The Forklift Operational Safety course qualifies personnel for operation of forklift trucks.

The training includes the following topics:

General forklift types and major components
Basic mechanics of forklift operation
Pre-shift inspection
Forklift stability
Safety standards for forklift operation
Proper handling and operating procedures for batteries
Standard hand signals for controlling forklift operation
Determining load weights of materials to be moved

Target Audience:
This course is intended for employees with responsibilities for safety, operations, maintenance, and engineering.

Course Prerequisites:
There are no course prerequisites.

Course Evaluation:
A written examination and hands-on evaluation will be used to measure student mastery of the training objectives. The student must attain a score of 80 percent or higher on the written examination for successful course completion.
