Course Summary:
The Certified Asbestos Supervisor Initial training course is approved by the State of Washington and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency for work in schools, meeting the Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act requirements. It is approved for asbestos work in Washington and reciprocal states.

Contract specifications

Target Audience:
Personnel responsible for the supervision of asbestos removal projects. This training meets the Washington (State) Industrial Safety and Health Act/Occupational Safety Health Act “Competent Person” requirements.

Course Prerequisites:
1600 hours work experience in one of the following areas:

Asbestos abatement
Asbestos project design
Asbestos abatement project consultation
O&M program supervision
Construction project supervision

Course Evaluation:
A comprehensive exam is given on the last day of the course, and a Certificate of Training is awarded to each student upon successful completion. Hands-on air monitoring exercises are also evaluated.

Course Length:
40 hours

Course Frequency:
1 time each quarter and upon request
