Course Summary:
This two-day course is designed to familiarize attendees with operational considerations for building entries as well as the practical application of building entry tactics. Demonstrations, practical scenarios utilizing simunitions and classroom instruction on the philosophical and practical issues will be the focus of the course. The course is geared toward the patrol officer, investigations and narcotics detective tasked with making building entries during calls for service or for search warrants.

The local Hazardous Materials Management Emergency Response (HAMMER) training facility's practical areas will be used to present "real as it gets" training.

The course covers the following topics:

Operational considerations for conducting a basic building entry

Practical application of various techniques

Tactics for different entry situations

Philosophical and practical issues

Target Audience:
This course is intended for use by sworn law enforcement officers, investigative and narcotics detectives or military personnel performing building entry activities.

Course Prerequisites:
None required.

Course Evaluation:
Practical exercises will be used to measure student mastery of the training objectives.
