Target Audience: This course is intended for Radiation Protection Technicians and professional staff with minimum education and experience required to take the examination
Course Prerequisites: Education Prerequisites: The applicant shall have a high school diploma or equivalent. In addition, the applicant must submit to the Board evidence of operational abilities as a Radiation Protection Technologist. (NRRPT Exam Application Requirement). Other Prerequisites: The applicant shall be at least 21 years old at the time of application. (NRRPT Exam Application Requirement). An applicant must have a minimum of five years experience. Training may be substituted for experience if the applicant will submit to the Board information about the program and proof of completion. This information should include curriculum, typical examinations, and passing requirements for radiation related subjects. (NRRPT Exam Application Requirement). Experience credit allowed for formal education, company training programs and applicable military training is cumulative up to a maximum of two years. Note that an applicant may not claim work experience while in formal classroom study. (NRRPT Exam Application Requirement). It is suggested that student be accepted for examination by NRRPT prior to class commencing.
Course Evaluation: Written examinations will be used to measure student mastery of the knowledge and skills as identified by learning objectives, necessary to perform satisfactorily on the exam.
Course Length: 6 wks, Monday and Thursday, 3 hrs per night. Registration Deadline 11/29/2004
Course Frequency: Twice each year starting 7 weeks before the exam.
